Privacy policy
How Helm Trader Command Center and helmtrader.com handle your information. Last updated: 3 June 2026.
Who we are
Helm Trader (“we”, “us”) publishes Helm Trader Command Center, desktop software for Windows, and the website helmtrader.com. Questions: Support.
Summary
- Command Center is local-first — your trading configs, API keys, and results are stored on your PC by default.
- We do not sell your personal data.
- The app may connect to the internet when you configure exchange APIs, license activation, updates, or optional notifications.
- Purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy (their privacy policy applies to checkout).
Information stored on your device
When you install and use Command Center, data may be written locally, including:
- Exchange API keys and related settings (for example in
.env) - Optimization and trading configuration files
- Backtest outputs, logs, and application state
- Your license key after activation
- Optional notification settings (email, Discord, Telegram) if you enable them
For Microsoft Store installs, writable files may be stored under your Windows user profile
(for example %LOCALAPPDATA%\HelmTrader\) rather than beside the application package.
Information the app may transmit
Command Center only sends data over the network when relevant features are used or configured:
- Exchange APIs — When you connect paper or live trading, requests go to the exchange (for example Binance testnet) using your API credentials. We do not receive your exchange keys on our servers.
- License verification — On activation, the app may contact a verification endpoint to validate your license key. Only the key (or a token derived from it) is sent for that check.
- Product updates — The app may download update metadata and packages from
helmtrader.com. This is typically version information and installer artifacts, not your trading data. - Support feedback — If you submit in-app feedback, you choose what to write. Diagnostic context (version, OS, non-secret paths) may be attached to help resolve tickets. Do not include API keys or secrets in feedback.
- Optional notifications — If you configure Discord, email, or Telegram alerts, message content is sent to those services per your settings.
Website and purchases
- helmtrader.com — Static pages and release downloads. We use Cloudflare for hosting and delivery. Standard web server logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL) may be processed by our host as part of normal operation.
- Checkout — Payments and license delivery are handled by Lemon Squeezy. We receive your license key and order details needed to support your purchase, not your full card number.
- Microsoft Store — If you install via the Store, Microsoft processes the install and may collect data under Microsoft’s privacy statement. The app itself still runs locally as described above.
What we do not do
- We do not provide investment advice or manage funds on your behalf.
- We do not operate a cloud copy of your bot or host your exchange keys on Helm Trader servers for routine trading.
- We do not sell or rent your personal information to third-party marketers.
Retention and security
Data on your PC remains until you delete it or uninstall the application. Support tickets and
purchase records we hold are kept only as long as needed for support, licensing, and legal obligations.
Protect your machine, license key, and .env file as you would any sensitive credentials.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including the UK and EEA), you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you. Contact us via Support with your purchase email or ticket reference.
Changes
We may update this policy when the product or site changes. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised policy.
